Leak Detection & Slab LeaksA small leak today is a big problem tomorrow
An unexplained jump in your water bill, damp spots, musty smells, the sound of water running when everything's off — those are leaks talking. We find them at the source and fix them with the least demolition possible.
We locate the leak before we open anything
Anybody can cut drywall until they find water. Good leak work is the opposite: pinpoint the source first — pressure testing, isolation, acoustic and thermal clues — then make one clean repair instead of five exploratory holes.
One customer put it this way: "He found the tiniest leak in a copper pipe that sprayed and caused so much damage… his knowledge of his trade is way above the average."

What leak work typically costs
| Job | Typical range* |
|---|---|

| Accessible pipe leak repair | $250 – $700 |
| Slab leak spot repair | $1,200 – $2,500 |
| Slab leak reroute (overhead) | $1,800 – $4,500 |
| Pressure regulator replacement | $450 – $800 |

Leak questions we hear the most
How do I know if I have a slab leak?
Classic signs: warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water with everything off, a water bill that jumped for no reason, cracks appearing in flooring, or a water meter that spins with all fixtures closed. North County's 1960s–80s tract homes with copper under the slab are prime candidates. Full list of warning signs here.
Slab leak: repair, reroute, or repipe?
First slab leak in an otherwise healthy system? A spot repair or single-line reroute usually makes sense. Second or third leak in a few years? That's the pipe telling you it's done — rerouting or repiping beats paying for the same emergency twice. We'll give you the honest math for your house, not a one-size answer.
What's a smart shutoff valve, and is it worth it?
A device like the Moen Flo sits on your main line, learns your water usage, and shuts the house off automatically when it detects a burst or abnormal flow — even while you're on vacation. For homes that have already had one flood (or landlords who can't check daily), it's some of the cheapest insurance there is. Some carriers even discount your premium.
Will insurance cover my leak?
Often the resulting damage is covered while the plumbing repair itself isn't — every policy differs. We document everything with photos and a clear invoice so your claim has what it needs, and we can connect you with a trusted water-remediation company like we did for other customers.
"He detected the leak (shower)... We clearly have water damage so he got me in touch with a water remediation company. We will likely need a full bathroom remodel and I will be calling Brian to plumb the new bathroom."
"I can always count on this plumber! He found the tinest leak in a copper pipe that sprayed and caused so much damage. Forever grateful."
